If the Republican party wasn't scared on Halloween they should be scared of 2014 if they fail to pass immigration reform with the path to citizenship.
We're praying they make the right decision to keep the Republican party alive.
Speaker Boehner, Majority Leader Cantor and Majority Whip McCarthy continue to stand in the way of immigration reform with their inaction. Meanwhile members of their own party: Rep. Jeff Denham (R-CA), Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), and Rep. David Valadao (R-CA) have stepped forward take action for immigration reform by cosponsoring HR15.
House Republican leaders are continuing to show where they stand, as we’ve said before: “Real Leaders, Don’t Hide.”
Our actions and our calls have built the bipartisan support we need to pass reform right now. We cannot and will not relent until immigration reform passes. Let’s continue to drill the message to the House Republican leadership at 888-845-2087, especially after the government shutdown debacle, they cannot afford to delay a vote on the path to citizenship.
With each passing day they do not call a vote on immigration reform, the Big Three: Speaker Boehner, Majority Leader Cantor and Majority Whip McCarthy are digging the Republican brand deeper into the ground.
The Republican party recognizes that it cannot continue to be unpopular with Latino and Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. The Republican National Committee recently hired Hispanic State Directors and Hispanic Field Directors in 7 targeted states that key to its national strategy. In addition the RNC also hired a National AAPI Field Director and a National Communications Director for AAPI Engagement as of April 2013.
Every day there are 4,389 new eligible Asian, Latino and Immigrant voters. Right now there are over 40 million eligible Asian, Latino and immigrant votes up for grabs.
We have heard many promises in the past from politicians on both sides of the aisle. Words are words, we want action. We will continue to organize, and make Congress feel the pain our families have gone through being separated by needless deportations.
We are not finished yet. This is a promise. We will not stop until immigration reform with a path to citizenship is made into law.
We will not stop until immigration reform passes for:
Irania from Make The Road NY, who joined the occupation of Cantor's office for immigration reform last week.
Sabrina in California, she’s been in the U.S. for 13 years as an F1 student, ultimately earning her master’s degree in San Francisco. She got a job that was supposed to provide H1B sponsorship but the company did not provide paychecks and without paycheck stubs, she was unable to apply for permanent residency. Through no fault of her own, in her own words: “I’m in limbo, I’m really lost and frustrated.”
Bryan in Texas who came when he was ten years old, met his wife and started a family. He was deported when his wife was pregnant with his first child and was forced to miss the delivery. Bryan has two children of whom he is separated from: “It breaks my heart not being able to be present in the lives of my little ones. It’s extremely hard being away from my family and the place I come home.”
Every day we will organize, we will call Congress on behalf of the 1,100+ people deported every day from this broken immigration system.
Demand House leadership give us a vote on citizenship at 888-845-2087, we will move these men and clear the way for a vote on real reform this year, for our families.
